£28m New Build gets Go-ahead!

Principal Lynne Dawes received a letter from the Department for Education confirming that they will have a new Academy building.

In the letter from the DfE, it has been confirmed that a revised budget of £28m has been allocated for the building of a state-of-the-art new facility which will house the Academy and give much wider opportunities for the local community.

Steve Chalke, MBE, Founder and CEO of Oasis Community Learning said “In the current climate where everything is being cut back, we can only say how grateful we are that Oasis Academy Hadley has been given an amount of money that will see a high quality facility provided for our students and local community. We look forward now to the next steps in the process.”

Lynne Dawes, Principal of Oasis Academy Hadley, said “This is the first in many stages that we have to get through. We are of course delighted, knowing that a state-of-the-art building will further assist in our efforts to drive up education standards and opportunities for this local community. We know also that our local residents will eventually benefit greatly from the high quality facilities that will be provided for use by all.”

Su Naz Geyik a year 10 student at the Academy said “I’m so excited. I believe that our first year in the new building could be my last year at school. I know there is a long way to go, but I can’t wait to see what we may have as a building to learn in. Our community needs this. It is fantastic news.”

The announcement now means that the tender process will commence, with a projected timescale of January 2013 being the new building’s first term in action. Part of the primary phase may even be open as soon as September 2012.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
