The day was organised for Year 11 students on the Employability Plus Programme on Day 10. The purpose of the day was to raise awareness to the students of the variety of careers and businesses that are in the local community. We hoped to raise their aspirations and help them to consider the options available to them.
Nine Employers/Entrepreneurs were invited to participate. Each of them gave a 20 minute presentation. Groups of 15 students visited each employer from different backgrounds these included a lawyer, an ambulance paramedic, a wedding planner, beauty products consultants and a policeman. The students visited each on a carousel. At the end of the day, the students reviewed what they had learned.
