New build for Oasis Academy Hadley will still go ahead

Founder and CEO of Oasis Community Learning, Steve Chalke, said, "Following last Friday's announcement by Secretary of State, Michael Gove, we are extremely pleased to have received written confirmation that the new build for Oasis Academy Hadley will go ahead.

"However, unfortunately, the start of the work has delayed until after the Government's autumn spending review, which will be completed at the end of October. During that time the Department of Education has asked to work with us on whether there is any 'scope to reduce costs and bureaucracy'. After this consultation our final budget will be announced and work on the new building will begin."

Principal of Oasis Academy Hadley, Lynne Dawes, said, "We are obviously relieved that we will receive a new building, but the delay is disappointing. We will need to look into the impact of a delay until October, but we are determined that our Academy and wider community will receive the funding and facilities that they both need and deserve."

The Academy is currently based on the Bell Lane site, and was opened in September 2009. Current plans are to establish a new build at Ponders End to open in January 2013.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
