Oasis Academy Hadley ‘rising quickly’ say Ofsted

Since opening in September 2009, Ofsted highlighted many positive aspects in the Academy's development in such a short period. They have stated that "Students are positive about the new Academy. They recognise and appreciate the improvements that are being made. They are increasingly ambitious and aspirational for themselves" citing the support given by staff and the leadership of the Academy as key factors driving this improvement.

Ofsted also state that "much has been achieved in the past eighteen months. Staff and students are very clear that the transition to Academy status represented a fundamental and very positive change in direction."

They also highlight that "much (teaching) is good, and at its best teaching is superb" and that "classrooms are calm, purposeful and orderly and relationships between teachers and students are very positive" continuing that "behaviour around the Academy is also generally good".

The priorities for further improvement are simply to build on what is happening by "increasing the proportion of good and outstanding teaching", in particular by ensuring that: "all lessons provide sufficient challenge for everyone and that students understand what they need to do to improve their work and reach their targets."

Lynne Dawes, Principal of Oasis Academy Hadley said "This is a fantastic start for us. It has been a whirlwind 18 months, which has included opening our Primary phase and getting the funding for a new building. The staff and students deserve huge amounts of credit for what they have achieved so far. We do also recognise that this is only a start. We have lots of room for further improvement and will continue to work together to raise standards and continue to raise aspirations."

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
