Oasis Academy Hadley welcomes its first students

Tuesday the 8th September 2009 will see the dawn of a new era in education for the young people at Oasis Academy Hadley.

Named after John Hadley, a highly respected Mathematician from Enfield, Oasis Academy Hadley today opened its doors to students for the first time, bringing with it a new sense of expectation that the future is bright in this part of Enfield.

New and free uniforms for all students in their first term at the Academy, new signage and some substantial refurbishment are the immediate signs that something has changed. Within the Academy culture itself students will experience a new style of curriculum, a wider range of opportunities and an inclusive approach to learning enabling everyone to achieve their potential.

Principal of Oasis Academy Hadley, Lynne Dawes, said, "We are hugely excited about this opportunity. All of our students have so much potential in so many different areas, and we are looking forward to working with each one to give them the opportunity to achieve their maximum. We also look forward to seeing the Academy working with the local community in a deeper way; part of our ethos is to become a Hub where every member of the local area can benefit whether by learning or leisure.”

Steve Chalke, CEO and Founder of Oasis Community Learning, said, "We are thrilled about being able to work with the local people here at Oasis Academy Hadley. Our aim is to provide high standards in every area of our students’ education and experience, and to give local people every opportunity to benefit from the wide range of resources we have on offer. As we begin to journey together in this way, we hope everyone will get involved and help this Academy become a place where, truly, every person matters."

Oasis Academy Hadley will hold an official opening later this month, where guests will have an opportunity to see some of the new and innovative ideas on offer for the students and wider community.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
