We’re beyond excited to share some fantastic news—our school has just earned the Eco-School Award! This is a huge win for our community, recognising all the hard work we’ve put into making our school a greener, more sustainable place to learn and grow.
What’s the Eco-School Program? For those who might not know, Eco-schools is a pupil-lead education programme for schools. They task students to deliver eco-projects that make the school site more sustainable, increase environmental learning, and benefit the wider community.
This fantastic achievement reflects the dedication of our Eco-Warriors, which includes 21 enthusiastic students and supportive members of staff. Their efforts in raising environmental awareness and implementing sustainable practices have made a significant impact on our school.
Our Eco-Committee worked tirelessly this year, from completing the Eco-Schools Environmental Review to launching initiatives like a gardening club, labelling bins, and spreading awareness to turn off unused devices. Their thoughtful action plan included projects such as creating a greenhouse and boosting biodiversity, all while involving the entire school community.
We’re proud of the environmental education integrated into our curriculum, which was recognised as a highlight in our Green Flag assessment. The Eco-Code, beautifully represented in an acrostic poem using the word "HADLEY," captures the spirit of our commitment.
