Students and staff at Oasis Academy Hadley are celebrating today after receiving a record set of A-Level and BTEC results, with many students now preparing to take their next steps into university, apprenticeships, and the world of work.
There were plenty of smiles and proud moments as students collected their grades and reflected on two years of hard work, resilience, and ambition.
Oasis Academy Hadley supports every part of a young person’s development, not just helping them succeed academically, but also building their confidence, character, and essential life skills. This year, the Sixth Form at Oasis Academy Hadley is celebrating its best ever set of results. At A-Level, 35% of all of the grades that students achieved were A*-A and 78% were A*-B. For BTEC, more than 60% of the grades were Distinction* - Distinction.
Scott Baker, Head of Sixth Form, said: “I am immensely proud of everything that our students have achieved. It is a testament to all of the hard work that they have put in over the past two years. The students have bright futures ahead of them. These amazing results will ensure 100% progression to the best possible destination for every student.”
This year’s most popular university destinations include UCL, King’s College London, Queen Mary, Imperial, Warwick, Durham, and Exeter. Popular courses include Medicine, Law, Civil and Biomechanical Engineering, English, Geography and Accountancy.
Among the academy’s top performers is Cloe Puttock who achieved 3 A* and 1 A grade and is heading off to Durham to study English Literature and History. Cloe praised Hadley Sixth Form for being an “amazingly friendly and supportive environment which helped her to achieve to her full potential.”
Genesis Leslie who achieved 2* and 2 A grades and will be heading to Queen Mary to study Medicine, agreed. Genesis said: “I am happy that all of our hard work paid off and am looking forward to realising my dream of studying medicine and becoming a doctor.”
Zara Irfan, who achieved 4 A grades and is going to UCL to study Pharmacy, echoed these sentiments, putting her own success down to “perseverance and the superb support provided by her teachers over two years of study”.
