On February 14th 2020, phase 1 took part in a Number Day celebration.

The children took part in a wide variety of mathematical activities which also linked to other areas of the curriculum. The activities ranged from making patterns and sequences in early years, to writing stories based on The Hungry Catapiller in year 4, to using mathematical techniques and ideas to create optical illusions in year 6.

The children also ‘Dressed up for Digits’, with children wearing clothes that represented a certain number. We had dominoes, number hearts, sports shirts and even a dice! The day culminated in a Who Wants to be a Mathionaire quiz show for children in key stages 1 and 2. Maths champions were chosen from each class and they competed against each other over a series of very challenging maths questions.

Congratulations to Deniz, Saffanah, Phenil, Mustafa, Norbet, Vikram, Zakk, Neil, Deen, Josephine, Darius, Nergis and Larisa who were all class champions and took part in the final show. Thank you so much for all of the generous donations that were given to raise money for the NSPCC to support their fantastic work in helping children throughout the UK.
