Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Student Life

Sixth form students play a vital role in academy Life. Our team of Ambassadors coordinate sixth form literacy, numeracy and behaviour mentoring programmes with the rest of the school. Our sixth form students take a lead role in charity fundraising within their communities. Every year two students are given the opportunity to visit Auschwitz concentration camp with the Holocaust Education Trust and take a lead role it Holocaust awareness education within the school.

We provide a strong programme of pastoral support to ensure student are well supported throughout their time at Oasis and beyond. Students have the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities such as debating, the EPQ, volunteering and social action projects.

Independence is a big part of sixth form life here - we want our learners to feel empowered and confident to manage their day, be successful in their learning and embrace opportunities that matter to them.

Work experience

Work Experience is a key part of our sixth form offer with all year 12 students undertaking two weeks of work experience at high profile companies and institutions. Work experience allows our students do develop key skills, build a professional network and explore different potential career paths. Preparation for university and employment is an integral part of Oasis Sixth Form.

Employability or work-readiness is becoming more and more important to universities and employers and work experience can give a valuable advantage when applying for university or work. Previous work experience placements have included Allen and Ovary law firm, the Ministry of Justice and the BBC.

Trips and excursions

We provide a wide variety of extra-curricular trips to extend student learning outside of the classroom with trips playing an important part of the sixth form experience at Oasis Sixth Form.

We believe these wider opportunities are as important in contributing to, and shaping learning through teamwork, leadership and varied experiences. Recent trips have included UBS, The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, The Houses of Parliament, Deliveroo Headquarters and Max Fordham Engineering Consultancy.
